Day 1

Airport > Colombo

Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Bandaranaike International Airport in Colombo, you will be met by an iTourlanka representative and transferred to your hotel in Negombo. There, you can sample local favourites like pol sambol (a tasty coconut dish) and roast paan (crispy roasted bread).

Day 2 - 3

Colombo > Sigiriya

Begin your Sri Lankan journey with breakfast at the hotel. Before heading out, we advise our tourists to shop in the morning so that you are able to enjoy the smells and sounds of Colombo.

After shopping, we will head to the Pinnawela Elephant Orphanage to learn about the country’s wildlife. The orphanage is home to the largest population of captive elephants, and here you can watch them interact with their environment as they feed and bathe in the Ma Oya River.

After this, you will be staying in Sigiriya. We will bring you to the hotel. The next morning we will bring you to Sigiriya Rock. On top of a massive rock that juts out of the golden fields like a stony fortress, the 5th Century Fortress in the Sky (Sigiriya Rock) is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the most popular tourist attractions in Sri Lanka. We will do this in the morning as crowds tend to be there during the afternoon. After that we will have a village tour via a bullock cart and we will be visiting the Dambulla Cave Temple.

Dambulla Cave Temple is an ancient pilgrimage site for over 2,000 years, this cave monastery is the largest and best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The 157 statues and 2,100 m2 of Buddhist mural paintings are of particular importance, as are the five sanctuaries.

Kandy > Nuwara Eliya

Before we head out to Nuwara Eliya, we will stop by the famous tooth relic. A trip to Sri Lanka would not be complete without a visit to the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. One of the most sacred sites in the country, it is locally known as the Sri Dalada Maligawa and is located adjacent to the Royal Palace Complex in Kandy. The shrine overlooks the vast expanse of Lake Kandy, and is a place of worship established in the 16th century AD.

After visiting the Kandy Tooth Relic, we will head over for a Tea Factory Tour. Kandy has been the center of Sri Lanka’s tea industry since colonial times. With the British colonization, Kandy became a major tea production center in Sri Lanka.

After that, we will be checking out Gregory Lake. This lake is located in the heart of Hill Country. It’s a hotspot for both foreign tourists and locals to enjoy this place.
